European Marketing Academy
EMAC Distinguished Marketing Scholar Award
Purpose
This annual award is designed to be the highest honor that a marketing educator with extensive connections to EMAC, the European Marketing Academy, can receive.
The award recognizes outstanding marketing scholarship and outstanding contributions to the European Marketing Academy.
Main Criteria
- Outstanding marketing scholarship, reflected in extensive and impactful research contributions.
- Outstanding contributions to the European Marketing Academy.
Evaluation Criteria
Heaviest weight:
- Research contributions
- Contributions to EMAC
Important, but of lesser weight:
- Teaching and mentoring
- General creativity and innovativeness
- Service to the marketing community and the public at large
Nominations
Nominations are invited from individuals and marketing departments. Nominations should include:
- A letter, maximum 4 pages, summarizing the nominee’s accomplishments on the five criteria above.
- A current curriculum vitae for the nominee.
- No self-nomination.
Award Process
The winner is usually notified in advance so that arrangements for the EMAC Special Session can be made.
While in unusual circumstances there may be up to two winners of the award, normally there will be at most one winner in a given year.
Recognition
The winner receives the award at the EMAC Spring Conference and presents a research lecture at a special session.
The winner may also be invited to provide an associated research article to the International Journal of Research in Marketing.
