EMAC Privacy Statement
The new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation is in effect as of May 25, 2018. It provides a legal framework for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals within the European Union.
The GDPR is intended to provide better protection for EU citizens’ privacy and to lay down uniform rules so that individuals gain more control over how their personal data are used.

The European Marketing Academy (EMAC) has updated its privacy policy to explain how EMAC uses and protects information individuals may provide when visiting its website. EMAC is strongly committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.
How we use cookies on emac.academy

Which data does EMAC collect?
In addition to using cookies on its website, EMAC may collect information when you create a profile on the XCD submission and registration system.
- First and last names
- E-mail address
- Country
- Postal address
- Mobile phone number
- Demographic information such as nationality, date of birth and gender
- Academic or professional information, such as university, school, department and position
Why does EMAC collect this data?
EMAC uses the information provided for three main purposes:
- To announce and manage EMAC activities, events, workshops and conferences
- To distribute selected information that is deemed to be of interest to its contacts
- To perform administrative tasks and communicate with members
How the information is used and protected
The information collected will not knowingly be communicated or distributed to unauthorised persons or organisations without your permission. The data in your profile will be used exclusively by EMAC staff for administrative purposes only.
Personal information will not be sold to third parties or provided to any other organisation without permission.
How can you control your data?
EMAC makes it possible for you to control your own personal information by enabling and regularly reminding you to keep your personal profile up to date and correct.
You may unsubscribe from the EMAC database and/or e-mailings at any time by emailing the EMAC office at office@emac.academy.
If you choose not to create a database profile, you can still visit most of the EMAC website. However, you may not be able to access all available information, such as “for members only” and other password-protected areas that require prior registration by means of a profile.
Database management
All personal data referred to in this Privacy Statement are managed by EMAC, located at Cantersteen, 47, 1000 Brussels, Belgium.
Within EMAC, personal data and profiles are only made accessible to those responsible who require the information in relation to their jobs.
