EMAC Job Market Simulation
A workshop for doctoral students preparing for tenure-track marketing positions and first-round academic job market interviews.
Main goal of the workshop
The goal of this workshop is to help students seeking a tenure-track position in marketing at a business school that recruits in the summer or fall of the current year.
The workshop takes place during the EMAC Spring Conference and runs immediately after the Doctoral Colloquium.
Workshop focus
The EMAC Job Market Simulation focuses primarily on the research presentation students are expected to make during first-round interviews.
Participants have the opportunity to present twice to a group of professors, practise their presentation and receive structured feedback.
Interview preparation
The workshop also addresses several do’s and don’ts of first-round interviews and campus visits through an online kick-off meeting.
Who should apply?
Students seeking a tenure-track position in marketing at a business school recruiting in the summer or fall of the current year.
Application materials
- One-page motivation letter from the student. Please clearly state that you are seeking a tenure-track position in the summer/fall of the current year, and indicate if you do not want your profile shared with hiring schools.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Recommendation letter from the advisor.
- Job market paper. Please include only one paper that is not yet accepted for publication but may currently be under review at a journal.
